As an Employment Advisor, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support and tailored guidance to job seekers, assisting them in their journey to secure meaningful employment opportunities. Through one-on-one consultations, you will assess clients' employment needs, strengths, skills, interests, career goals, and areas for development. You will develop personalized action plans, offering advice, guidance on resume writing and interview preparation, guidance on navigating the jobsnd.com website and on filing unemployment insurance claim (if needed), directing to training opportunities, services, and other resources, ultimately helping clients achieve success in the job market.This position collaborates with employers by identifying job opportunities, demonstrating website features (such as resume searches, labor market information, and job postings), providing resource information related to training, apprenticeships, and economic development; and educating on state and federal resources available such as WOTC, internship funding, and training.As part of the Foreign Labor Certification program, you will conduct quality inspections of worker housing provided by employers for temporary or seasonal agricultural employment (H2A) to ensure Department of Labor (DOL) and OSHA standards are met. You will work with employers to schedule inspections, address any problems found, arrange temporary housing if needed, document inspections and violations, and follow-up with Workforce Programs on any violations found.Travel is required during regular business hours throughout the week for H2A inspections, training, and to perform outreach activities to employers in the following six counties: Ramsey, Towner, Rolette, Cavalier, Benson, Eddy.
To be considered for this position, you must have the following experience/education combination:a bachelor's degree in education, business management or related studies, or a human services-related field plus at least two (2) years of related work experienceOR at least six (6) years of related work experience and high school diploma or equivalentRelated work experience typically includes assessing an individual's talent, hard and soft skill inventory, and/or employment barriers, in order to prepare job seekers and students for the workplace, create career pathways, enhance training opportunities, identify transferrable skills for displaced or disabled workers.
